Fully Working Extension Lead – Very Discreet Design

This seemingly ordinary 4 or 6-way extension lead cleverly conceals advanced audio recording technology, making it incredibly easy to use and completely undetectable. The incorporated SD memory recording system is powered from the mains power connection and all mains sockets can be used to power devices in the normal manner. This listening device can only be used when plugged into a mains power outlet. It’s virtually impossible to tell this is anything other than a normal extension lead. This is because the recording system is hidden completely out of sight and can only be accessed by unscrewing the back of the extension lead to reveal it.

Sound Activated Recording – Time/Date Feature

The voice-activated recorder features a highly sensitive microphone, capable of capturing normal speech within a 7-meter radius. The discreet nature of the recording process is paramount; the device operates silently and without any lights or other signs that it is recording. This ensures that the surveillance remains completely undetected. While the system can store up to 999 separate files, it’s worth noting that the way these files are created can affect storage duration. For instance, in a busy office with constant chatter, the device will create many short files, potentially filling the storage sooner than in a quieter environment with longer periods of speech.

Large Audio Recording Capacity – Computer Playback

The recording capacity depends on the size of the installed micro SD card. The unit comes with a 32GB card, but for those with more extensive recording needs, this can be upgraded to 128GB (see package options). To listen to recordings will mean removing the micro SD card and inserting it into the supplied card reader. We supply a micro SD to USB convertor as part of the package . Recordings can then be played analysed and stored on the computer. For added convenience, an on-the-go cable offers a direct connection to a smartphone, enabling users to listen to recordings in the field without needing a computer. It is important to select an appropriate on-the-go cable that is compatible with the user’s specific phone model (see our Recorder Accessories section).

Will the recorder still work if it is unplugged from the mains power supply?

The recorder requires mains power to operate; it does not have a battery backup.

Does the unit make any noises or are there any lights when it is recording?

No, the recording process is silent and discreet, with no sounds or lights emitted.

You will need to consider the following to use this equipment:

• You will need a suitable screwdriver (Phillips style is preferable) to open the device and access the micro SD memory storage card.
• To ensure the time and date stamp remains accurate, the internal battery for this feature needs to be recharged every 2-3 months by connecting to mains power supply
• To listen to recordings, you’ll need a computer with a standard USB A port or a compatible smartphone and ‘OTG’ (on-the-go) cable.
• Most computers can play the recordings. If not, you will have to download the free VLC media player.
• A media player on the computer for playback of audio files. It maybe worthwhile downloading a free media player. We use VLC Media Player at Spy Equipment UK
• Consider keeping a spare micro SD card for quick swapping. This minimises downtime when the original card is full or needs to be accessed. Spare memory cards can be purchased from our recorder accessories section.
• Note: The recorder is limited to 999 files. In environments with frequent sound events, the file limit may be reached before the card’s storage capacity is full.
