Table Lamp Camera / DVR

Incorporating a spy camera system within a innocuous-looking table lamp is an ideal solution for many home environments or relaxed office areas. Previously offered solutions of this type would have required an external video recording system, but the Table Lamp Camera DVR fits both camera and digital video recording system inside the lamp itself.

Normal Lamp Function Retained

Just because we have fitted spy camera technology within the lamp, this doesn’t mean that the light will not function in the normal manner. By retaining the normal light operation ensures that it will be used and accepted as part of a room environment in which it has been placed. Also because it is more likely that the lamp will be used, this will assist the camera in capturing clear well lit imagery.

Cleverly Hidden Camera

The entire camera system is hidden within the lamp base. The hidden camera is located one of the vertical faces of the base viewing the room environment though a discreet pinhole. The SD card DVR system is completely out of sight and can only be accessed by removing a magnetically attached plate from the underside of the lamp base. Inside this enclosure access can be gained to change the SD Card and to switch on/off the unit.

Motion Activation / Scheduled / Continuous Recording

The unit produces high quality video (with audio) with time/date stamp, has options of manual, scheduled and motion detection, has an overwrite function for continuous recording. Scheduled recording means picking a set time period during which you would like the unit to make video recordings. Overweight recording provides the ability to have the card start to overwrite the oldest video footage stored once the insured SD card is full and this reduces the necessity for changing the card or removing it to delete stored content until absolutely necessary. The device accepts up to 32 GB SD cards. No SD card is supplied as standard, but at an extra cost it is possible to order a 32 GB card (see drop-down menu). and is supplied with a remote control for ease of use.

Permanent Power From Mains Supply

The unit takes external power from the Mains supply, so it is a matter of simply plugging the lamp in to power the DVR. The lamp itself can also be used in the normal manner and switching the light on and off can be done independently from the camera system. It should be noted that although running separately from the lamp functionality, there is no back up battery within so the mains outlet that the lamp is connected to will need to be switched on.

Where is the camera located within the device?

The camera is covertly located in one side of the black base unit. A tiny hole has been drilled for the camera, although it is extremely difficult to spot, even at close range.

Does this device record sound?

Yes, there is a microphone within this device. The microphone will be able to clearly record voices within a general 6 metre radius.

Is the video that is recorded clear enough to be able to recognise faces?

Yes, it is very easy to identify people on the footage as long as there is enough light in the environment that the recording takes place.

Does the device still function as a table lamp?

Yes, this can still be used as an everyday table lamp in the normal manner. The light can be switched on/off separately from the camera system.

Is this product supplied with an SD card?

We do not supply any SD card, but these are readily available from many high street shops including supermarkets as well as online suppliers

What is the maximum amount of video I can record before I have to change the SD card?

The system will accept an SD card up to 32GB, which will provide enough memory for up to 48 hours of actual recorded video footage (with audio). If motion detection is selected then this would generally mean that a large SD would not need changing for days.

If I unplug the device from the mains power will the spy camera system still work?

There is no internal backup battery so unfortunately it will not work. The light does not need to be on, but the mains supply needs to be connected to power the camera.

How will I know if the camera is looking exactly where I want it?

Hidden inside the compartment inside the base are AV connectors to allow the unit to be connected to a TV screen, thereby enabling easy set up.

You will need to consider the following to use this equipment:

• This product does function as a normal working light. The camera system is powered separately from the lihjt function so you will NOT have to have the light on for the camera system to work. You will however need the lamp to be plugged into a ‘live’ mains socket.
• You will need access to a computer with speakers attached is required if wishing to playback recordings with the audio.
• You will need a media player on the computer for playback of video / audio files. It maybe worthwhile downloading a free media player. We use VLC Media Player at Spy Equipment UK.
