The Profinder 1216i Bug Detector is an excellent professional counter surveillance sweeping device providing a massive 12 GHz range, a flexible side-by-side 3 channel and single channel analysis facility with an excellent informative LED display.
Bug Detector that Detects Modern Electronic Surveillance Devices
Updated methods for ‘listening and watching’ with the help of cutting edge technology have become widely available in modern times – the latest installment comes in the form of this specialist bug detection device. Tiny GSM transmitters designed to listen in to conversations are commonly available, often disguised as everyday objects, at prices that make accessible to practically anybody. WiFi Spy Camera systems can be installed to remotely monitor your every move. Bluetooth protocol has been specially designed to transmit voices or conversations with high quality at a distance of up to 100 m, which makes it easily be used for bugging purposes. And perhaps, more importantly, the new range of microwave bugs and cameras make remote listening and viewing very simple.
Designed to Cover Standard Detector Pitfalls
The frequency range of the bug detector 1216i is divided into three parts, each displayed by a separate bar graph: “VHF/UHF 50-700 MHz”, “Mobile and wireless 700 MHz – 3 GHz” and “Microwave and wireless 3-12 GHz”. The separate indication allows the user to understand better what type of signal is detected, to detect several signals at the same time and to sustain the ability of detection near the sources of interference. The third “microwave” band covers the 3-12 GHz frequency range. This band detects Wi-Fi and other wireless protocols operating at 5 GHz and on any higher frequencies. These frequencies are supposed to be more covert since they are not detectable by many common RF detectors. The device has an alarm feature that helps the operator to reject background interference by adjusting the threshold. When a signal exceeds the alarm threshold the device produces an alerting sound.
Bug Detection – Detailed Histogram Analysis and Signature
Each of the three frequency bands in this counter surveillance device can be selected for more detailed analysis. In this ONE BAND display mode, the Profinder 1216i shows the histogram for the selected band as well as the bar graph. The histogram visually plots the history of the signal obtained over the last 5 seconds and is very informative when observing intermittent/periodical signals or when sweeping the area quickly. In addition to bar graph and histogram the 1216i can identify some types of signals and show a corresponding message on the lower display, for example: cordless DECT device in an “idle” state, active DECT device, GSM, 3G, Wi-Fi/Bluetooth to enable easier identification.
Detects Everyday and High-Frequency Bugging Devices – Counter Surveillance
Solidly made with a sturdy metal enclosure and supplied together with batteries and instructions ready to go, the Bug Detector Profinder 1216i is designed to detect: VHF/UHF devices, GSM baby-monitors/ GSM alarm/GSM bugs, GSM/GPRS/EDGE/ 3G and 4G video cameras, GSM Spy phones, GPS Trackers, Bluetooth bugging devices, Spy phones with Bluetooth/Wi-Fi, bugging devices, Wireless video cameras 2.4 GHz/5.8 GHz and other high frequency microwave devices up to 12 GHz. It is designed to have a significantly higher sensitivity to the 3G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth bugging devices compared to conventional RF detectors. Will this device find all radio frequency bugs?
The Profinder 1216i unit has a very wide range of scan which covers all known bugging device transmission frequency use. These are also broken down into three bands ensuring easier detection where multiple transmissions are evident.
Can the Profinder 1216i unit detect voice recorders?
No, voice recorders to not transmit a frequency and therefore cannot be detected by RF detection equipment. A Non-Linear Junction Detector is the only type of device that can detect this type of bugging device. This is why physical search is paramount.
Can the Profinder 1216i detect wireless cameras?
This product is able to detect wireless cameras transmitting in the 2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz ranges and is also perfectly equipped to detect the normally awkward 3G and 4G audio and video bugs.
Can I hear through the device when an audio bug is detected?
The Profinder 1216i does have audio demodulation, so there is audio signal noise as a confirmation, although hearing the audio is also possible if an analogue bug is being detected.
Will the Profinder 1216i easily detect tracking devices?
The 1216i is an excellent tool for identifying signals transmitted by ‘live’ tracking devices because of its 3 band setup, sensitivity and histogram readout capability.
