Recording starts automatically when the 6-gang adapter is plugged into a live mains socket and subsequently recording will commence in response to sound in the environment in which it is placed, so when there is no sound in the environment, the recording will stop and store the last recorded file onto the micro SD card inside with each recorded event is catalougued in chronological order. There are no external or internal switches, so to stop recording, simply unplug the adapter or switch off the mains power.

Listen to Recordings on Computer or Smartphone

To access or replace the micro SD card, the mains extension plug housing must be opened (unscrewed) after disconnecting it from the power source. This is designed to be a straightforward process, easily accomplished by anyone. Unlike battery-powered recorders, which have inherent limitations, this mains-powered adapter provides an ideal solution for continuous, discreet voice recording.

Recordings can be played back on a computer (Windows or Mac) using the supplied Micro SD to USB card reader. What is the recording radius of this spy audio recorder?

Will the recorder still work if it is unplugged from the mains power supply?

No. Recording stops when the adapter is unplugged because there is no backup battery within.

Is there a time and date stamp on the recordings?

Yes, this device can time and date stamp the recordings. However, this feature requires a one-time setup process using a Windows computer. A connection/programming cable is supplied for this purpose.

Is the SD card accessible without having to open up the extension lead?

No. The SD card is concealed within the power strip and can only be removed for playback of recorded files by removing the screwws that hold the extension together. This should always be undertaken after disconnecting from the mains power supply.

Can voice activation be disabled?

No. This spy device is always in voice-activated mode. There is no mechanism to switch the mode to continuous.

How much recording time can an SD card store?

The included 32GB SD card stores up to 576 hours of audio. The device supports up to a 128GB SD card, which can store well over 2000 hours of audio files.

• The unit will need to be connected to a mains supply every few months to retain the correct time and date programming. This is to recharge the tiny time feature backup battery.

• Generally 1GB of recording memory will give up to 18 hours of recording, so a 32GB SD card will store up to 576 hours of recordings and 64GB will store up to 1152 hours.
